The first generation is a Vacuum Tubes, ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer) designed by and constructed under supervision of John Presper Ecken at the University of Pennsylvania. This project to response to U.S wartime needs during World War II. Project will be started at 1943 and resulting machine was enormous, weighing 30 tons, occupying 1500 square feet of floor space and containing more than 18,000 vacuum tubes.
The second generation is a Transistors, the first major change in the electronic computer came with the replacement of the vacuum tube by the transistor. The transistor is smaller, cheaper and dissipates less heat than vacuum tube but can be used in the same way as a vacuum tube to construct computer. Unlike the vacuum tube, which requires wires, metal plates, a glass capsule and a vacuum, the transistor is a solid state device, made from silicone.
The third generation is a Integrated Circuits, the combining of electronic equipments to design complex electronic machine in one circuit board and installed in the computer.
The fourth generation is a Microprocessor, just as the density of elements on memory chips has continued to rise, so has the density of elements on processor chips. As time went on, more and more elements were placed on each chips, so that fewer and fewer chips were needed to constructs a single computer processor.
The fifth generation is a Artificial Intelligence, the intelligence of machine will be taking an action and make a decision perceives its environments. With AI many the higher difficulties of problem will be solve and the intelligent machine will be analysis the problem to making decision from situation to solve the problem. The computer like be a brain of human.
Computer is a fast growing technology to make easy of people to do the job. Who is not knows to use the computer as a people is not knows to writing. The computer is easy to use.
